without comments

The 2010 TV Land Awards, hosted by Tim Allen, was a star studded event featuring some of television’s most beloved actors and actresses. Favorite stars from across generations were in attendance, from Betty White to the cast of the recent hit series Glee. Popular television shows were honored in a variety of categories, such as the Fan Favorite Award and the Future Classic Award.

The award for TV Land 2010 Fan Favorite went to the players from the classic show The Love Boat. Bernie Kopell and Gavin MacLeod starred in this comedy about the passengers and crew aboard a cruise ship known as The Pacific Princess. Prior to this award, The Love Boat had two Emmy nominations and four Golden Globe nominations to its name.

Younger television enthusiasts were surely thrilled to see the new favorite Glee honored with the Future Classic Award. Glee, which focuses on a high school Glee club on a mission to take a national title, was the biggest breakout television hit of 2009. TV Land surely honored it for its quirky one-liners and show stopping musical numbers, which make it unlike any other show on television.

The esteemed Legend Award was received this year by men who have both changed the face of comedy, Mel Brooks and Carl Reiner. Reiner became a television classic as a writer on The Dick Van Dyke Show, while Brooks has several classic comedies under his belt, like Spaceballs, Young Frankenstein and the Broadway hit, The Producers. This marks the first year that there have been two recipients of the Legend Award.

The award for the show that has made a huge impact on Pop Culture was given to the cast of the 1970’s classic Charlie’s Angels. Not only was Charlie’s Angels a hugely successful television show, but it spawned two blockbuster films starring Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore. The award was accepted by Cheryl Ladd and Jaclyn Smith, sadly without their recently deceased co-star, Farrah Fawcett.

The popular sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond received the TV Land Impact Award, and the honor was accepted by stars Brad Garrett and Ray Romano. To add extra excitement to the honor, the cast was given the award by television icon Bob Newhart. Over the course of its nine year run, the show received an unbelievable 129 award nominations, rounding up forty-nine wins.

The show that was honored for its 30th anniversary at the ceremony this year was the 1980’s sitcom Bosom Buddies. Jay Leno was there to present the award to the show, which ran on ABC from 1980 to 1982 and in reruns on NBC during the summer of 1984. Accepting the award was the show’s decided breakout star, Academy Award winner Tom Hanks.

The TV Land Awards was a fun and varied event, honoring some of television’s brightest stars, past and present. A wide variety of stars turned out for the ceremony, from classic comedians to contemporary Oscar winners. The show was a great way to re-live memories from the amazing shows that came into our lives through our televisions for so many years. Couture Fashion Was The Primary Theme At The Mother And Child Premiere

without comments

When the stars hit the red carpet for the Mother and Child Premiere in Hollywood on April 19, they may as well have been hitting the runway. For better or worse, stars like Amanda Seyfried and Kerry Washington made a definite splash with their wardrobe choices. From the beautiful dresses to the amazing shoes, the fashion was as much of a draw as the film at this premiere.

Mother And Child star Kerry Washington was a vision to behold in a J. Mendel print dress. Heels from Sergio Rossi and a clutch bag in gold highlighted the frock. The star’s accessories went far from unnoticed due to the large pink Amrapali ring on her hand.

Amanda Seyfried does not appear in Mother And Child, but that did not stop her from making a splash on the red carpet at the premiere. Seyfried looked beautiful in a grey and purple silk dress from the Bodyamr Fall 2010 collection. However, a look at pictures from the Bodyamr runway show reveals that the exposed zipper Seyfried wore up front actually belonged at the back of the dress.

New York was the site of the April 26 premiere of the film and the fashion show continued. Classic looks, like the Stella McCartney black cropped pants and lace-accented black top worn by Naomi Watts, ruled the night. Watts kept the color scheme going by pairing the outfit with a black clutch and heels. The look was understated, but at the same time elegant.

Kerry Washington jazzed it up from her Hollywood appearance, wearing a mini-dress. This black and lilac little number came from the Fall 2010 Zac Posen collection. The dress underwent some tweaks from the Posen runway show, now appearing in a sleeveless version. Black peep-toe heels and a clutch of the same color finished off the look.

The film’s two older stars looked distinguished and well put together as they made their way down the red carpet with their spouses. Annette Bening looked lovely in a black pantsuit at the L.A. premiere as she entered holding hands with her husband, actor Warren Beatty. Her co-star, Samuel L. Jackson was accompanied by his beautiful wife, Latanya Richardson.

The film Mother And Child shadows the lives of three very dynamic women. The first is a health care worker still struggling with the decision to give her daughter up for adoption after becoming pregnant at 14 years old. The daughter has grown up and has become a successful lawyer, but the decision made by her birth mother has affected her life as well. The third woman portrayed in this film has made the life-changing decision to adopt after discovering that she and her husband are not able to conceive a child.

The anticipation surrounding this film inspired some amazing looks on the red carpet for both the New York and Los Angeles screenings. If the Mother and Child Premiere is any indication, this movie will be filled with stunningly beautiful women. Mother And Child will be playing in theatres everywhere on May 7, 2010. The Back-Up Plan premiere caused the Hollywood elite to make the short trip to the Regency Village Theatre on April 21. The film’s star, Jennifer Lopez, was joined by co-stars Alex O’Loughlin and Tom Bosley and actors the likes of Leah Remini and Heidi Klum. Lopez beamed with pride as husband Marc Anthony escorted her on the red carpet.

Lopez actually had a second escort in the form of Nubbins, her canine co-star. Nubbins is a handicapped dog who steals the show in the movie and he did not disappoint when it came to red carpet attire. His puppy wheelchair was pink in color and adorned by flowers. The snazzy little pooch even sported a flower printed bandana.

As adorable as Nubbins’ ensemble was, it was Jennifer Lopez who truly stole the show with her amazing outfit. Looking radiant in silver, Lopez wore a beautiful one-shoulder dress by Gianfranco Ferr
